Siciliana – Il Coro della Conca d’Oro 1935-1965
This publishing project has come into being after careful restoration of ten 78 rpm records, belonging to the Giacchino family, which Unda Maris Edizioni undertook last year. In the publishing operation, the priority was recovery of the Sicilian historical-musical patrimony through non-invasive restoration giving back to the listener the sonority of the original recording. Calogero Di Liberto – Il pianoforte all’opera
Opera has appeared in many forms over its long history. Since 1900, for example, it has found a featured place in cinema – in “silent” film and mainstream film, and as full-length opera film. This link with visual media is a way of re-interpreting opera for the modern age. It does not replace live opera, but expands the potential of opera according to the values of our era. Cinematic opera also offers new insights into the original work and our relationship to it.
